The Crowne Plaza West Hanoi will open pretty soon, said Chihiro Tamao, director of sales and marketing at the luxury hotel on Le Duc Tho Street, My Dinh Commune, Tu Liem District.
Tamao did not elaborate on the exact inauguration of the hotel near the My Dinh National Convention Center and My Dinh Stadium. However, the property is receiving reservations with an opening special rate of US$110 per night for stays from January 15, 2011 onwards, according to its website at www.crowneplaza.com.
“As a newcomer, we expect taking some time to catch up with existing operational hotels,” Tamao told the Daily in an email interview. She added My Dinh was the newest business district with convenient access to Noi Bai International Airport, which would be a competitive advantage of the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi.
The hotel has 393 guestrooms, including 40 units of luxurious suites, recreational and spa facilities and areas for meetings and tailored business solutions for travelers, food and beverage outlets.
The hotel has captured the interest of business travelers and event organizers. “Receiving considerable numbers of inquires from our business partners as well as the event organizers from the National Convention Center makes me positive in business in 2011,” Tamao said.
When in place, it will be the first operational hotel bearing the brand of IHG in Vietnam and the third property managed by this global hotel operator in Vietnam.
In September 2009, IHG opened the 305-room InterContinental Asiana Saigon hotel featuring meeting rooms and a large grand ballroom able to accommodate up to 600 guests, restaurants and bars, a spa, a health club and a 20-meter long outdoor swimming pool. The InterContinental Hanoi Westlake started to receive guests three years ago.
The Crowne Plaza West Hanoi is a component of a complex, which also comprises offices and serviced apartments for lease. Tamao said the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi Residences of 135 full serviced units was going to open shortly.
The Crowne Plaza West Hanoi Residences is the first serviced apartment property under IHG’s Crowne Plaza brand and the second residences property under the management of this group. Launched in September 2009, the InterContinental Asiana Saigon Residences offers 260 fully furnished apartments of one-bedroom to three-bedrooms and is part of the Kumho Asiana Plaza, an integrated complex featuring up-market commercial, accommodation and shopping arcade.
The complex incorporating the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi hotel and residences broke ground in 2007, when IHG initialed its management agreement with the complex’s owner Tran Hong Quan Co., one of the leading gas companies in Vietnam.
Earlier in December, IHG announced management deals for Holiday Inn Resort Phu Quoc off Kien Giang Province and Holiday Inn Resort Cam Ranh Bay in Khanh Hoa Province. The first 250-room resort is scheduled for opening in mid-2014 while the other also having about 250 rooms will serve guests from the third quarter of 2013.
